ABOUT US.
Grounded in the Word. Grown in the Faith. Growing for a Lifetime.
The Sunday School Ministry exists to assist the Ministry team in teaching the congregation the truths of scripture, teaching the Word of God, under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, in truth, simplicity and with integrity, whilst recognizing the importance of sound Godly teaching. The Sunday school is an essential disciple-making strategy for the church through the effective teaching of biblical principles for godly living and ministry. These teachings are presented systematically after a set curriculum by spiritually matured teachers. Sunday School is, therefore, an evangelistic, missions and a church growth strategy (building a healthy church).
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

VISION
To raise a Bible-literate, Spirit-filled church family — where every member, from the youngest child to the most seasoned saint, is firmly rooted in the truth of God’s Word and equipped to live it out in their everyday life.
MISSION
The Word, faithfully taught to every generation
The Sunday School Department is committed to making disciples through the teaching of the Word of God for the Transformation of lives, building Healthy churches and sensitizing members to ministry with love, passion and faithfulness.
Matt. 28:19-20
WHO IT'S FOR
The Sunday School Department is for every member of the MCAG family — from age four to ninety-four.
Whether you are:
- A parent wanting your child grounded in biblical truth
- A teenager wrestling with the big questions of faith and identity
- A young adult seeking deeper theological understanding
- A new believer wanting to learn the basics of the Christian faith
- A mature believer committed to lifelong growth
— there is a class for you, and a community waiting to learn alongside you
WHAT WE STAND FOR
The Bible as Our Authority. Every lesson, every class, every age group — rooted in Scripture.
Faithful Teaching. Sound doctrine, taught clearly, applied honestly.
Lifelong Learning. No believer ever graduates from the school of the Word.
Every Generation. Children, youth, and adults — all served, all stretched, all sharpened.
Christ at the Centre. Every Bible story, every doctrine, every memory verse — pointing back to Jesus.
Excellence in Teaching. Trained teachers, prepared lessons, prayerful classrooms.
WHY SUNDAY SCHOOL MATTERS
Because the Word of God is our foundation. Sunday sermons inspire and challenge. Sunday School forms. Sunday School is where the underlying framework of biblical truth is patiently laid, line upon line, precept upon precept.
Because every age needs to grow. A five-year-old needs the Word at their level. A teenager needs it at theirs. So does the working adult, the parent, the senior, the seasoned believer. No one outgrows the need for instruction in the Word.
Because discipleship is not accidental. Mature believers are not produced by accident. They are produced through patient teaching, faithful repetition, and consistent learning communities.
Because our children carry our future. The convictions our children form in Sunday School today are the convictions they will carry into their schools, their universities, their workplaces, their marriages, and their own homes tomorrow.

Age-Tiered Classes
The Sunday School Department runs structured, age-appropriate classes across each of our four branches, including:
- Beginners — Our youngest learners, taught the foundational stories and truths of Scripture through interactive, age-appropriate methods.
- Primary — Building biblical literacy in our primary-aged children through engaging Bible study, memory verses, and creative learning.
- Juniors — Helping older children make the connections between Bible stories and the bigger story of God’s plan.
- Teens — Equipping our young people to think biblically about identity, friendship, purpose, faith, and culture.
- Young Adults — Deepening biblical literacy and theological grounding for those navigating university, career, and adulthood.
- Adult Sunday School — A serious, rich, accessible study of Scripture and doctrine for every adult committed to growing in the Word.
Bible Teaching that Goes Deep
Our curriculum is rooted in the undiluted Word of God, taught in line with the doctrine of the Assemblies of God. We work through Scripture systematically and thematically — covering the great stories, the foundational doctrines, the historical context, and the practical application of biblical truth for daily life.
We teach the Bible because we believe the Bible. Every lesson is prepared with prayer, study, and a clear conviction that every word of Scripture is profitable for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).
Memory Verses & Scripture Engagement
We encourage every learner — child, teen, and adult — to commit Scripture to memory. The Word hidden in the heart is the Word that strengthens us when storms come. Our memory verse programme is one of the most quietly transformative parts of our Sunday School ministry.
Teacher Development & Mentorship
Behind every effective Sunday School class is a faithful, prepared, prayerful teacher. We invest deliberately in our teaching team through:
- Regular teacher training sessions
- Prayer and fellowship gatherings
- Curriculum support and resources
- Mentorship for new teachers
- Continuous safeguarding training
We do not believe in casual teaching of the Word. We believe in serious preparation that honours both the message and the people receiving it.
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness."

OUR HEART
We live in a generation that has access to more information than ever before — and, paradoxically, less biblical understanding than at almost any time in modern memory. The Sunday School Department exists to close that gap. Slowly. Faithfully. Lesson by lesson. We believe that a church standing on a clear, deep, well-taught Word is a church that can withstand every wind and weather of the times. Sunday School is where that depth is forged. It is the quiet but indispensable work of teaching the next generation — and the present generation — what God has actually said. We are, by conviction, a people of the Book. The Sunday School Department is one of the most important ways we live out that conviction.
Leading with Love
OUR LEADERSHIP
The MCAG (UK) Sunday School Department is led by a faithful team of trained teachers, department coordinators, and ministry leaders across our four branches. Each branch operates its own Sunday School team while remaining united under the wider doctrinal and curriculum framework of MCAG (UK).
